Islands guitaristi

Concert 30. apr. 2016 19.30 – Icelandic guitarist Arnaldur Arnarson was born in Reykjavík in 1959. He studied music in Sweden, Iceland, England and Spain with Gunnar H. Jónsson, Gordon Crosskey, John Williams, George Hadjinikos and José Tomás. He took 1st prize in the XXI “Fernando Sor” International Guitar Competition in Rome in 1992 and is one of Iceland’s foremost instrumentalists. Arnarson has performed in Europe, Australia, Latin America and the USA. He has been co-principal and guitar teacher at the Luthier School of Music and Dance in Barcelona for more than thirty years and is now working frequently in his native country. He regularly gives master classes and has been a jury member in competitions around the world. Arnarson will be performing a highly varied programme of music by  Icelandic composers Jón Ásgeirsson and Thorsteinn Hauksson and works by Luise Walker, Elsa Olivieri Sangiacomo, Cassadó, Sor, Takemitsu, Tansman, Castelnuovo-Tedesco and Sojo.
