Around the Weather06.10.2018 - 11.11.2018
Exhibition Around the Weather 6th October – 11th November 2018.
The artist collective Den Gyldne and the Danish weather station TV2 Vejret have created an exhibition about the Nordic weather. The weather is something we all share. People through all times have related to it. It is always around us, 24 hours a day, all year. Our lives are affected by it and life on earth relies on it. The weather has countless facets and expressions and can produce a lot of different emotions in us.
Experience the Nordic weather interpreted by artists from the artist collective Den Gyldne and a selection of their colleagues. The exhibition in Rundetaarn shows 30 very different works each with their own expression and story portrayed in painting, graphics, video and installation by the use of colour, ink, photography, moving pictures, stones and sound. Learn about the creation of the artworks and the natural explanations of how weather phenomena are formed.
Take a trip through a whole year with TV2 Vejret in sound and pictures. Experience a selection of the many impressive photographs TV2 Vejret has received from their viewers through the years. Get explanations of weather phenomena and learn what a “weather blanket” is.
In a mix of art and science the exhibition Around the Weather takes us through the year, and despite the circular shape of the tower we come across all corners of the world.
