Danish Tapestry25.08.2018 - 30.09.2018
Exhibition 25 August – 30 September Danish Tapestry.
Danish Tapestry celebrates its 20th anniversary in the Round Tower where 22 weavers show their works. With this exhibition the group marks that it has been 20 years since their first exhibition at KØS Museum of Art in Public Spaces and Design Museum Denmark. Danish Tapestry has previously exhibited in the Round Tower, in 2005, where the tapestries looked amazing in the grand room. Since then, a long row of national as well as international exhibitions have followed, most recently at the Winter Palace in Saint Petersburg in 2015.
The group formed in 1998 with the desire to show the capability of Danish tapestry weavers. Joined together, exhibitions could be created, consisting of very large works. It is a ground rule for the group that the exhibited works must be of at least 3 square metres in size. The current anniversary exhibition is supplemented with several small-scale works for the first time.
