CITY OF JEWELLERY – THE COPENHAGEN GUILD OF GOLDSMITHS 2015 Saint Eligius Exhibition October 3rd – November 8th.

The history and proud traditions of Kjøbenhavns Guldsmedelaug will be presented and brought up to date by the story of the development of a profession over time. The exhibition will present the guild’s treasures, current jewellery and a body of contemporary practitioners, along with new works created for the exhibition by the 3 nominees for the 2015 Saint Eligius Prize.

The opening ceremony will include the announcement of the recipient of the Saint Eligius Prize – Kjøbenhavns Guldsmedelaug’s prestigious talent prize of DKK 100,000, awarded to a special talent, whose unique designs and visionary perspective lends something to the future of the profession. Kjøbenhavns Guldsmedelaug was founded in 1429 and is one of the world’s oldest guilds with written laws.

Opening hours: All days: 10 am – 6 pm. From mid October: Tuesday and Wednesday 10 am – 9 pm.
