FREE DESIGN

An exhibition by Danish designers in the Round Tower

 June 22 – August 14, 2005

It is the work of the hand. The hand is the creator of it all: the work with the many materials, shapes, colours, and functions; the development of an aesthetic expression; a design, which enlightens our senses and improves our moods. It is Danish design; art ware, which cover a wide field and which emerge in the coat we wear, the glass we drink from, the pen we use, the lamp, which lights above the table, and the picture we contemplate on the wall.

In the exhibition “Free Design”, the network association, Danish Designers, displays a number of examples of designs in the year 2005. 35 artists and artist-craftsmen within glass, photography, textile, ceramics, furniture making, and pictorial arts are exhibiting the variation of expressions, materials, and techniques in Danish designs.

Facts about the Danish Designers:

The Danish Designers is an interest group in the Technical National Federation and was created to strengthen the personal network between designers, artist-craftsmen, textile artists, and technological designers.
