’Graphics over Borders’

The Title ’Graphics over Borders’ refer both to the fact that the exhibition has been created on the basis of collaboration across international borders and that the exhibition is not limited to represent selected graphic techniques and that the art of printmaking per se is a social artform in that it is multipliable and therefore is not limited in its possibility for outreach, as monotype and unique works are.

At this exhibition there will be rich opportunities to experience graphics both as a traditional and as a modern art form and to experience results of the enriching cultural and creative cooperation  across Europe including the previous eastern block countries with their tradition for a high level of printmaking both technically and artistically.

By the printing press that has been installed in the exhibition hall it will be possible to see the process by which the motifs on the plates are transferred to the printing paper. And the videos showed from the workshop that take place simultaneously with this exhibition, at the States Artisan Workshops at Gl. Dok, will give an insight into the working process where the graphic art is created.

The Exhibition show the high quality and great range in the art of printmaking in Europe today,  embracing all graphic techniques from graver, dry point, etching, lithography and woodcut to photogravure and digital work.
