George Vassilev was born in 1966 in Bulgaria, where he started his guitar studies. In 1987 he continued his education at the Kiev Conservatory in Ukraine, later he attended "concert degree" classes in Switzerland at the Geneva Conservatory, than in Copenhagen at the Royal Danish Academy of Music. George Vassilev has been awarded many first prizes in international competitions: International Competition for Musical Performers "Maria Canals de Barcelona", 1992, Spain and International Competition for Musical Performers (CIEM) 1995 in Switzerland among others. As a soloist George Vassilev has given recitals in many European countries, as well as in Brazil. In addition of his activities as a soloist he often appears as a teacher in guitar and music festivals in Europe.
