ROUND TOWER CLASSIC: Songs of Love
ROUND TOWER CLASSIC: Songs of Love
How can light and emotions be transformed into music? Find out at this concert, which interprets the current exhibition at the Round Tower, AFTERGLOW: Conversations on Light, through a varied programme ranging from arias and songs by Carl Nielsen to musical classics.
Do you remember your first crush, the first glance, or the first kiss? In the concert Songs of Love, the audience is taken on a journey through love’s greatest emotions: joy, sorrow, infatuation, and everything in between. On this evening, emotions are given a musical voice.
Inspired by the exhibition AFTERGLOW: Conversations on Light, this concert experience creates a dialogue between music and light, reflecting one another. The programme explores the many forms of light: the warm glow that awakens memories, and the clear light that opens new perspectives.
The three musicians, Helle Gössler Christensen (soprano), Torben Kirkegaard (tenor), and Filip Michalak (piano), guide the audience through life’s afterglow: those moments when the light of love, sorrow, and hope continues to shine. The programme ranges from arias such as La donna è mobile to musical classics such as Somewhere. The trio will also perform classic Danish songs.
Helle Gössler Christensen, Torben Kirkegaard, and Filip Michalak are all graduates of conservatoires and have since appeared frequently on opera and musical stages as well as concert stages in Denmark and abroad.
