Halfway up the Round Tower is the entrance to the large and stunningly beautiful Library Hall, which now serves as a popular gallery and concert venue. In the Library you’ll also find the Round tower Shop & Café.
The Library was once the home of the entire University book collection. It opened in 1657 and housed approximately 10,000 books until 1861 where the book collection was moved to new premises on Fiolstræde, not far from the Round Tower.
The old Library was later used as a studio by theatre-painter Carl Lund, and as a depot for the Zoological Museum.
Entrance to the Library is included in the tower ticket.
